Personally...
For myself, I became aware as a teenager of
being able to “know” in tentative terms what
was going to happen in the near future, and
†”what people were
thinking.” I thought I was just guessing.
College, military, career and a new family
sidetracked the intuitive side of my
thinking...until my job became boring, and
my mind wandered. Then I became aware of the
prescient abilities of my mind.
Studying and practicing meditation helped me
to explore other latent abilities —
body-scanning, out of body travel, “distant
viewing,” energy visualizing, and easily a
dozen more.
I suffered a severe accident in 1990 and
received a closed head injury. What I wasn’t
aware of was that it also made the wall of
consciousness as thin as cheese cloth. And
this allowed my consciousness to penetrate
the material universe at any distance
conceivable from the subatomic to the
macro-universe, and temporally in any
direction.
And intense bout of loneliness in the early
1990s sparked my first contact, (a
physically-felt hug!) with my Guardian
Angel, Leah. And so began my conscious,
daily, and ongoing relationship with her and
then many other beings of light in the
Creator’s great hierarchy of universe
organization.
I suppose all of this sounds rather
fantastical, and in contemporary terms it
even sounds like a hallucinatory form of
mental illness, yet it has not interfered
with my life or that of others. It does not
meet clinical and social psychological
criteria for mental illness. Yet, it does
not endear one to conventional social
circles!
These abilities are surely entertaining for
a curious person, and I have explored my
curiosity with them. Yet, the daily
realities of making a living, maintaining
friendships, living inside a physical body
and attending to its requirements and
ailments, writing, and attending to the
process of becoming more occupies a great
deal of time and has distracted me from the
aerie realms and dimensions of the universe.
Yet, now, I realize that these abilities can
be used for much good for others and I have
begun a conscious effort to do so.
† “What people were
thinking” is not actually accurate. This is
usual label given for one’s first
interpretation of the phenomena of sensing
what people are feeling-thinking. It is not
literal, but only a guide to another’s state
of feeling-thinking.
